How to Reupholster a Piano Bench

How to Reupholster a Piano Bench

Thank you so much for sharing!

Hey Everyone!!

As you know, we have moved all of our stuff out of storage and into this house… full story here.  This summer I plan to do lots of home diy’s and show you ways that I am sprucing some things up!  Let me know if you have any requests!  Today, I am going to show you how I recovered our piano bench.  We recently inherited a piano bench from my step dad’s dad who was moving out of his home.  It needed a little tlc and some minor repairs but we are very thankful to have a piano in our home!  I don’t play an instrument, but my husband and his entire family are extremely musical.  My mother in law is a music teacher and my father in law is a professional musician, so we really want our children to be surrounded by music as much as possible.  We just hired a piano teacher who now comes to the house to teach my son piano and we love it!

Here is the bench before… yikes!

After… much better.

In these photos the wood looks a little bit different but I did not change the finish of the wood… I just used some wood polish to make sure it was nice and clean and shiny.

I used some fabric from the upholstery section at joanns fabrics… use a coupon, I got this 50% off!

Hey Melanie! I've been a follower for a while! I love how watching your videos makes me want to MAKE SOMETHING! :). We just got home from adopting our daughter from China. We moved into our house at the beginning of the process, but we put all of our time and resources into getting her home. Now that we are home and adjusting, I'm ready to jump into redoing our house! I'd love to see what all you do for inspiration. Maybe a house tour?? What about a cleaning schedule??
